Forward by the Mayor
 Councillor L.E. Ward.

'We are celebrating to-day the Silver jubilee of our good King George V, and it is right and fitting that the Nation should rejoice.

I know that the people of Cheltenham are second to none in their loyalty and allegiance to the Throne and I am sure that our celebrations on this auspicious day will serve to remind the younger generation that they are citizens of a great Empire.

I trust that 6th May 1935 , will prove to be a "red letter" day in the lives of all the people of Cheltenham'
